Originally it was believed that there were 15 B-group vitamins, which with the passage of time and research, were shown as only six: Thiamin (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Niacin (B3), pyridoxine (B6), folate (Folic acid – what some call B9) and cobalamin (B12).

These compounds are believed vitamins are: adenine (B4), pantothenic acid (B5), Choline (B7), Biotin (B8), carnitine (B11), orotic acid (B13), xanthopterin (B14) and B15 (pangamic acid)
