* Change in the E.C.G. (Similar to potassium deficiency)

* Excessively abrupt responses (hyperreflexia)

* Emotional lability
* Sometimes hyporeflexia
* Arrhythmia
* Heart failure
* Muscle twitching
* Choreiform movements
* Positive signs and Tousseau Chrostek
* Vasodilation
* Arthritis
* Alopecia
* Glomerular and tubular necrosis
* Injury periportal hepatocellular degeneration
* Neuromuscular hypersensitivity.

Magnesium deficiency usually occurs when there are shortages of calcium and potassium (when the serum magnesium falls below 1 mEq / liter).
